Hello, the subject cable broke at the throttle end. My mower (Harrier 48) is circa 1989 - but continues to work flawlessly. However, a replacement assembly is not available from Hayter (it is now obsolete, I'm advised). I've made a temp fix, but would really like to fit a similar cable unit. Do any of the other Hayter mower Throttle Control & OPC cables fit as a direct replacement ? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks, Dave

Mick

Hi OldNick, and welcome to TGMForum.

It's a shame these were made obsolete, there still some lovely harriers out there which are now getting scrapped just because of stuff like this.

So when you say the cable broke at the throttle end what exactly do you mean?  Engine end? or control end? It's quite common for the outer cable to come out of its little crimped retainer on the control end, I have actually refitted some of these successfully in the past, doesn't always work though.
