How long before we ban petrol powered garden machinery?

What's your thoughts on banning petrol powered garden machinery. I gather there's a few campaigns around the world including us here in the UK where people are asking for a complete ban on petrol powered equipment.

Do you think the demise of petrol powered gear will drive down the prices of battery powered? Where will this leave the engine manufacturers, like Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kawasaki, Loncin etc? Do you think they will replace their power units with a universal battery powered units, like Toro has done with their Toro and Hayter battery mowers.

Thoughts?

I think a few places will ban it. However controlling what every household uses and every contractor is pretty pathetic. The fuel needs to be cleaner - that's where aspen comes into play.

Hi Greg.  Do you run Aspen in all your gear, or just your 2 stroke stuff? Do you notice the benefits from doing so?
