Stihl BG86C

One thing I have noticed lately, the recoil starter on the Stihl BG86C is embarrassingly unreliable, it'll fail if you sneeze on it.  Why the heck can't they put something better on this machine.

The system they use is poorly designed, and the cushion spring will fail and wind itself between the plastic pulley and the pawl holder.  They should have designed it so the parts overlap instead of leaving a gap.

Just my thoughts for a Monday morning.
