STIHL Engines and E10 Fuel

I know an awful lot of dealers and experts say avoid E10 fuel at all costs, but STIHL are reassuring people that E10 and under will not cause problems with Stihl petrol tools.  Basically saying if your machine has a manually adjustable carburettor it will be fine up to E10.  If it's a M-Tronic model it's good up to E25

Additional recommendations

  • Don't store your machine with E10 petrol in it.
  • Store E10 fuel for no longer than 30 days in order to minimize the degree of fuel segregation.
  • Use high-quality brand-name petrol with a minimum octane rating of 90.

So there you have it, panic over.  ;)
