Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum. I bought a hayter hunter 41 last year second hand, I'd had it 5 mins and it had broken on me. I'll give a brief description to see if anyone can help. I pushed the lawnmower forward and it was difficult to move, then a piece of metal snapped where the wheels turn, I was unable to use it. Any help is Very much appreciated. Thank you.

Mick

Hi and welcome to TGMF.

I'm assuming you mean the rod that connects to the front axle and disappears through the height of cut adjustment handle.  This rod is called a connecting rod.

Like this one. https://www.mowermagic.co.uk/acatalog/Hayter-Connecting-Rod-Some-Harrier-41---Hunter-300104---was-30071--300104.html

There is two versions which are of slightly different lengths, which one you'll need will depend on whether your machine has a plastic rear flap on the back, or and metal one.

Hi and thank you for the reply, it has a metal flap on the rear.

OK, so the one I linked to above is the correct one for your machine.  Part number 300104

You  will also need 2 Push on fixes (grip fixes) to hold it in.  The old ones are not reusable.  Part number 02385

There should also be a large spring fitted to the rear underside of the machine, this hooks onto that rod and on to a bolt and washer at the back of the chassis.

If you get stuck fitting this, then please just ask it's pretty easy to do when you know how.
