I have an old 2 stroke mantis tiller with a kioritz engine. I have had no end of issues and bought a replacment " good" engine of Ebay which turned out to have broken rings. I have tried rebuilding one engine from the two with no luck. Can anyone advise if I can replace the engine with any brand of new 2 stroke engine and just swap the linkage from engine to gearbox?

Mick

Hi Kidder68, and welcome to TGMF.

As long as the replacement engine has the exact same mount and shaft fitting and can at that angle (it has a diaphragm carb) it should work.

What's wrong with your existing engine?  I know you said you bought another, but are they both so bad they can't be rebuilt.
