Hello, this is my first post on this forum. :)

I have a Honda ride on, HF2315SBE.
I am replacing the cutting deck and have fitted most of the parts, however, I am struggling to remove the blade spindle housing that sits underneath the pulley.
The hole of the deck is too small to pass it through.

It somehow needs to be taken apart but I cannot see how it does.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Jack

Hi Jack, and welcome to TGMF

You say the hole in the deck is too small to remove the bearing housing assembly.  I'm assuming you have removed the aluminium blade boss from the end of the shaft?  Is your deck similar to the one pictured here, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Cutter-Belt-Fits-36-92cm-Decks-HF2113-HF2114-S-HF2315-80305-Y09-003-/230823003968

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Its the blade boss that I'm struggling to remove. I can't see how it comes off.

Thanks

Jack, if it's the same as in that diagram I linked to, then the blade boss is a push fit on the shaft.  It's probably just either a tight fit, or corroded on.  The boss has a keyway which slides over a key in the shaft.

Thanks Mick I'll take a look.

I removed the housing bolts from the shaft first so I think I'll refit them to make it more secure to give me something to pull from.

Is it just a case of pulling the boss straight off the spindle?

Many thanks

Yes exactly that.  Just be careful where you pull , or lever it from.  Behind and as close in to shaft as possible, otherwise you might break it.  Some plus gas or wd40 type spray might help.
