I need to replace the rear baffle on a Mountfield SP425 mower and can source the part (Part number 322108392/0) however it looks like the self propelling mechanism needs to be taken off. I have been looking for video to help explain the procedure but wondered if anyone on this forum has had to replace on on this machine or on a similiar model and has any advice. I can't afford to take it to a specialist as i am not working currently and would like to have a go myself. Any help or advice would be welcomed

The reason for replacing in that it has a hole at the back of the blade casing, which is the front of the rear baffle.

Do Mountfield sell workshop manuals as the ones they provide only cover the Honda engine and the basic operating instructions.

The part is No. 4 on this diagram Deck Diagram

Hi, and welcome to TGMF.

I very much doubt there would be a repair manual for any of the Mountfield machines to be honest.  I would just refer to the parts diagram and work from that. I haven't seen a video on this anywhere as yet.

To start off, just treat it as if you're replacing the gearbox but obviously take it further by removing the rear plastics while dong so.  Then refit in reverse order.
