I inherited a Mountfield Hydro 1228H at the end of last season, so only had a chance to look at it now, readying it for the season. It wouldn't start, so I took the various covers off, only to find a birds nest, with some wires snipped. I managed to get the engine running but the kill switch wont work. So really looking for advice. I downloaded the wiring diagram , but as a novice I find it hard to follow. I have attached some images which highlight my problem! Any help would be much appreciated. thanks, Terry

Think what's happened here (and I'm only guessing) is the circuit board probably developed a fault and either wouldn't start, or kept cutting out as soon as they tried to drive it or engage the blades.  So rather than spend out on the new board they tried bypassing it. Those circuit boards are rather expensive to replace, especially if not sure it's faulty.

The engine will quite happily run without a circuit board it's there to provide a safety system, stops you starting it with blade engaged while not sitting on the seat etc. You don't want to be standing with your toes under the deck and turn the key with the blades engaged. Therefore I don't recommend you continue to bypass this system.
