Noticed Cobragarden http://www.cobragarden.co.uk has decided to throw warranty out if using Alkylate based fuel mixes with at least one of their chainsaws, there might be more than one model.

Just wondered if anyone else has seen other manufacturers doing the same.  I'll quote the Cobra Technical Bulletin below:

Cobra Technical Bulletin:

Factory tests have shown the Cobra CS620 Chainsaw's piston and cylinder are overheating and becoming damaged when used with Alkylate based fuel mixes (e.g. Aspen). This can cause the engine to fail.

This model should only be run using a 40:1 petrol/oil mixture.

You will invalidate your warranty if you use Alkylate based fuel mix with the Cobra CS620-20 petrol chainsaw.
