Honda HRX Handle locating pin torn out

OK, if you're ever faced with a Honda HRX which has torn out the lower pin that locates the handle in different (Height) positions, don't throw it away and have to wait for a new one.  Here's a little workaround that'll get you and your customer out of a muddle.



Grab a lower fuel tank bolt out of a scrap Briggs engine, (you know the shouldered bolt that goes through the tank and spacer and screws into the engine block.) Stick it in a vice and hacksaw the bolt head off, and you now have a replacement pin complete with thread so you can hold it in with a nut.  They fit perfectly and nine times out of ten you don't even have to drill the hole out.
