Hyundai HYM430SP, in good condition, very little marks on the underside of the deck so would assume it's not been heavily used.

Starts on the first pull every time, runs fine when on a straight bit of lawn but sometimes loses power when pushing it up the slightest of slope - even on short grass.

The fuel was drained in November when putting it into storage so the carb shouldn't be clogged but will check later.

The fuel hose seems flimsy and soft - more like a wire cover than a fuel hose and definitely not like the firm feeling of the Briggs & Stratton fuel hoses.

There is a slight kink in the fuel hose, so I'm considering replacing it with some B&S hose.

I have gently put a small cable tie around the kink which will keep the hose in shape while I give it another try.

The hoses on these Chinese engines are pretty poor to be honest.  The engines are actually pretty good now, just let down by things like hoses, plastics and some of the recoil starters.

Hopefully you changing the fuel hose and maybe a carb clean will cure it.  One thing to bare in my is some of these have a rather large spigot coming out of the tank, and a much smaller one on the carb, this can make using a standard hose rather awkward.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I might hold off replacing the hose as removing the kink seems to have cured it, after testing I took the cable tie off the hose, slid the hose retainer down and gently turned the hose slightly and the kink doesn't seem to re appear so it should be all good.

I'm assuming that the last owner pulled the hose off and pushed it back on without removing the retainer to drain the fuel and twisted the hose side to side to slide it up the spigot causing the hose to kink.

Seems like a nice machine and there's a UK site dedicated to genuine Hyundai spares which is a bit of a bonus.

Rach, what's the link for those spare parts?  I'll add it to the links page on here if you provide it.  ;)
