Hi, my name is Joseph and I am currently a sixth form student. My dad (Iain) and I have a large collection of mainly American garden tractor: Bolens, Cub Cadet, Wheelhorse, Roper, etc although we do have a couple of Westwood D1200's and an early Countax.

I mainly post via my Youtube channel which I have been doing for about 8 years now. I will introduce the channel in the Youtube section but I do enjoy forums and I am looking forward to exploring this forum

Hi Joseph, glad to see you made it over here. Welcome to TGMF.

Roper, now that's a blast from the past.  Was It Allen Roper? I grew up on a small holding and sure the guy next door had a Roper tractor with various attachments, though I think a lot of them were home made.

We had a old TE20 Petrol Paraffin Ferguson and a Ford Dexta in the early days.

I believe Ropers were imported into the UK by Allen which is why we know them as Allen Ropers much like Bolens was imported by Howard and labelled Howard Bolens. We have a 3pt hitch for one of our Ropers and two tiller attachments which have seperate B&S engines

Mick

Yep, they were.  Allen used to import a lot of garden machinery and rebrand it.  Still see the odd Allen Strimmer in for service.  ;)
