Hi everyone,

Do you know where I can buy the carb. adjusting tool for the Zama carb fitted to the Stihl blowers. When I hav elooked at the screws they appear to be hexagonal with an outward protruding cone in the centre.

Cheers

I have the tool you mentioned, I will have to see if I can find the part number for it. It's listed in the Stihl parts list if you have access to it.

Not sure if t's this one listed on L&S https://www.lsengineers.co.uk/screwdriver-5910-890-2307.html

From memory, the one I have seems to be rounder at the end with the hex further up inside.  I will have to check our parts list on Monday to be sure though.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for your reply.

I already have that Stihl tool - 5910 890 2307, so I know that one does not fit.

Please could you have a look on Monday?

Cheers

OK Kevin, I remembered to check out the part number number for that adjustment tool, it should be this one, 5910-890-2314  It's the bottom one in the attached photo below.

L&S seem to have it in stock at a reasonable price compared to some I've seen. https://www.lsengineers.co.uk/genuine-stihl-screwdriver-oem-no-5910-890-2314.html

Cool, glad it fitted ok.   Wonder how many of these tools we'll end up with lol..  They seem to change this stuff on a regular basis nowadays.

If it's anything like cars & vans, too many. I have a car brake spring tool that I now use to connect chainsaw/disc cutter throttle link rods.
I made a tool out of a bolt to undo the screws with the inset square holes used on the Hayter R53.

I hate those bloody screws, wonder who came up with that idea.  Toro rotary's also use those screws on the belt guide around the gearbox pulley.  They use Torques screws everywhere else.
