I'm trying to replace the self drive mechanism on a RM46SPCE. Not sure what order to strip down. Any advice welcomed

Mick

Hi Franko, and welcome to TGMForum.

I would probably start with removing belt cover, and unbolt the belt tensioner arm that the gearbox is resting against and remove belt.

Disconnect clutch cable.  Unbolt connection arm at the back (the one that runs from rear to front to keep machine level) then undo the two retaining plates shown in your photo with the two screws.

Pull the whole frame out and sit it on your bench.  Then start stripping the gearbox out of the frame. Chain and gearbox sprocket off, bearing retaining clips or pins etc and then slide gearbox one way and then back again out of the frame.
