Setting max engine rpm on early GXV160

Hi Mick and all, the HRA216 I posted about separately is going well. Starts first pull, idles beautifully at 1850 and max throttle is around 3,000. However if you inadvertently go beyond high towards choke it stars to go probably towards 3,600+ before engaging the choke.

Now on the current generation of GXV160 you have a limit screw which has a security torx 25 in a little rubber sleeve. On this one it doesn't - just a screw for the choke. I've put the throttle governor spring in the top hole.

I've done the governor arm adjustment. Any thoughts?

Hi Tim.  To be honest I can't see much of what's going on in your photos, maybe something has some slight wear, or needs a bend.  Have you got any more photos of the control linkage, preferably with that tin panel removed.

However, it is quite common for the revs to rise slightly as it transitions to choke.  Probably why they added the split linkage and stop screws to the later ones.  ;)
