Hi I have a sanli gts 26 strimmer the head won't spin or if it does it goes a bit at a time then jams up I've enclosed some pics I'm wondering if anything is missing as the holes won't match up it does have the gear spring thing that goes to through the shaft into the motor Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Mick

Hi Gastricj, and welcome to TGMF.

Does the head assembly spin freely when it's off the machine?  if so then it's either something wrong with the flexible shaft or the liner that it run in, or perhaps the clutch drum seizing up on its bearing at the engine end. You need to make sure all those components are turning freely.

Thank you mick for replying I have loosened the head and it spun the head off so I'd say the clutch bearing is ok I can understand why the hole dsnt match up as shown in the pic so wondering if there is something missing to make it match up

Mick

Ok, so the head spins ok, and you've checked that the flexi shaft is turning the clutch drum, wondering what is causing it to jam up.

I can't actually see the locating hole in that photo. Has the end of the tube broken away?

This a pic of the gear head on the same machine on eBay mine dsnt seen to have the extra bit between the gear head and the strimmer head where can I get one from maybe it's that not making the holes line up? Looks like a spacer but Dnt know the size of it

Mick

Ok, I see hat you mean now.

Either there's something in the bottom of the bearing housing stopping the tube going in, or something has moved in the tube assembly.

Try removing the flexi shaft and then make sure the housing slips on properly without it.    If it does, then try locating the flexy shaft into the head end first and then slide the hole lot back into position, you might have to turn the head by hand to get it located.  And give the shafts a coat of grease while it's out.

[/quote Hi mick done what you said and the holes still don't match up I've had the gear head and strimmer head off and the strimmer head still jams so I think it's the gear head bearing is there a universal gear head I could get for it also the throttle trigger has snapped after it fell off the table I was working on do you know where I could get one of them from any help will be greatly appreciated thanks

Mick

So now the throttle trigger is broken.  Did you catch it on something while moving the machine around.

if you can tell me how to do it i can order the part and hopefully that will sort the problem out

Mick

You need to measure it with a calliper or Vernier gauge to be accurate. Or just measure across the opening in the housing to get a rough idea.

I have no idea here to get parts for Sanli nowadays, we stopped doing them years ago.  There's a few of them machines and parts on ebay though.

Remember, yours is what's called a bent shaft strimmer which doesn't actually have a gear head, it's just a simple bearing housing.  The straight shaft version has a gear head.  They are not interchangeable. Engine is the same though.

ah right so i cant get a gear head for it then it has to be bearing housing would i be able to replace the bearing bit with the screw thread attached to it or would it all come together
