I have a Hayter Envoy 36 electric rotary mower.
I am having issues in trying to remove the blade bolt to enable me to replace blade.
Is there a special spanner to fit this nylon type bolt which appears to be 30mm six point head
I have tried an adjustable spanner and a combination spanner but the spanner just slips.
I was just wondering if anybody could advise.
Thanking you
Brian

Hi Brian, and welcome to TGMForum.

They can be a right pain to undo sometimes, especially if the head has worn slightly and lost some of the depth required for a socket to get a good grip.  Or if the Blade carrier has split and turned on the motor shaft which can tighten the bolt even more while using the mower.

You need a Hex spanner or Socket to grip on all corners.

Thanks for your reply Mick.
I will try to obtain hex spanner.
I have also ordered a replacement blade bolt which hopefully will be easier to remove (providing I can get the current one off)

I would while you have the blade off, remover the blade carrier (fan) and make sure is not split where it pushes onto the motor.  They have a habit of splitting there.

There should be a flat moulded into the hole which lines up with the flat on the motor shaft.

Let me know how it goes.
