Site Feedback / Site bug with Android mobiles
March 21, 2017, 06:53:27 PM
There was a bug when trying to type anything on here with a Android mobile, the keyboard would keep disappearing so you couldn't type anything.  Hopefully it's fixed now if anyone could confirm please.  ;)

Lawn mowers / Toro Recycler Rear wheel not straight
March 20, 2017, 08:13:55 PM
Wondered why the rear wheel wasn't straight on this Toro Recycler, Think it must have been a Friday afternoon one.  ;)

In the second picture you can clearly see the threaded retainer-bushing has been screwed in on the piss. (excuse my French).  :)

Sorry for image quality> taken on my really cheap windows phone.

I sometimes wonder why you only need a certificate to purchase a tiny top handled chainsaw, but you don't need one to purchase a larger more powerful chainsaw with a massive bar and chain on it.  People could do some serious damage with a four foot bar, let alone nearly kill themselves trying to start the thing.  ;)

Your thoughts?

General Discussion / Moss Killer?
March 19, 2017, 12:43:13 PM
Need to scarify my lawn soon, covered in moss, especially in the shaded areas.  Anyone know what moss killer is reasonably cost effective and easy to apply?  I have no idea what to get.

If I understand correctly the moss should be killed off before scarifying, so's not to spread the moss further.  Any help / tips would be appreciated.

So we all know that the petrol we get from the pump is giving us nightmares, causing serious reliability issues, and costly breakdowns.

The trend now is to switch to using something like Aspen 2, or STIHL MotoMix for your chainsaw strimmer etc.  I read a lot on the various forums that some will only use Aspen, but wondered what makes you decide over one brand compared to another.  Is it price? Availability? Something else? What makes you decide.

This poll is only aimed at the 2 stroke users atm.  While I do appreciate the same thing is happening with 4 stroke power units, we'll touch on that one later.

General Discussion / Sonic Carb Cleaning?
March 15, 2017, 07:36:35 AM
Just curious.

Does anyone know what the current cost is for having a carb sonic cleaned here in the UK?  Does you service dealer charge for sonic cleaning as part of a service, or is it thrown in if needed.

Hayter / Hayter Harrier 37xx series?
March 10, 2017, 08:56:44 AM
With the release of the new range of Hayter Harriers for 2017, has anyone had to do any work on any of these yet?  Just wondering what they're like to work on compared to the previous models.

Any info would be appreciated.

I dare say there's more makes than the two listed in the poll. but I'm only familiar with the Stihl and Husqvarna.  So, what's Your Favourite Cordless Top handle Saw, and why.

Chainsaws and Pole pruners / STIHL MS200T vs 201T
March 05, 2017, 10:43:33 PM
Anyone prefer the newer Stihl 201T version as opposed the old 200T ?  Reading around the various forums on the web, it appears the old one is much better.

Thoughts.

Lawn mowers / A question for the Pro Users
March 05, 2017, 03:09:11 PM
A question for the Professional Users out there.

What's you favourite make and model rotary mower, and why.  What makes it better than the rest of them.  I realise a lot of people prefer Hayter, or Honda, but I'd like to hear your take on this.
