I've got an Echo HCR171ES and I cant for the life of me work our how to dismantle the handle. I've removed all the screws I can see but then I'm lost! Any ideas?C288A6CE-8715-4060-AF68-6677373C810F.jpeg

Hi Spoonie, and welcome to TGMF.

I can't remember dismantling one of this particular model, but I would have thought like a lot of the other makes / models out there that the rear handle has to be removed from the main body of the machine first, the pivot being made up out of the two halves you're trying to separate.

Have a look and see if there's a way to release the rear handle from the machine.

Thank you!
I suspected similar, that I might need to somehow release the pictured bit on the inside of the handle nearest the machine but it's got me flummoxed!

Looking at that image, very similar to the 165es I would imagine, there looks to be horseshoe type clip holding it it, much like part 27 in this pic

OK, slightly different on the 171ES, so take a look at this image and ignore the other one above. ;)

Part 5 in this case.  Also be aware of parts 6 and 7,  spring and pin, as you don't want to lose those when you dismantle.

Mick, you absolutely wizard! Went out to my shed, looked at it again and the horseshoe clip was staring me in the face! Unclipped, turned the handle and pulled the halves apart and that was me!! Thank you so much!
