JCB strimmer no spark

Hi all

As in the title , I've picked up a JCB M25 strimmer but can't get it started. I've fitted a new carb as the primer bulb had gone on the old one and the new carb was as cheap as the bulb , got new plugs for it but I can't get a spark. I've tested the switch using a meter but haven't tried disconnecting it yet. I'm using generic settings for the plug and air gap as I can't find any thing better online.
Is there any thing else I should be looking for with this make or am I on the right lines ?

Thanks

Mick

Hi, and welcome to TGMF.

If the machine definitely has no spark, then I would start by disconnecting the stop switch directly on the coil itself if possible. If still no spark at the end of the HT lead then I'm afraid the coil might have failed completely.
