Hi, so after being gifted a neighbour's AL-KO Razor Cut mower (they moved) I can't seem to get it to roll (I know, something so simple...). It seems locked or something as the wheels/cylinder blades make a clang sound when trying to spin them. Possible something's broken?

Mick

Hi CheshamMow, and welcome to TGMF.

I would just do a visual inspection of the cutting cylinder and make sure none of the welds are broken, or blades bent.

Then start by backing off the adjustment each side so the bottom blade moves away from the cylinder, see if it all turns normally and then adjust the bottom blade so it's just touching the cylinder blades all the way across. If sharp enough you should be able to cut strips of paper while setting it up.

Hi Mick, thanks so much for the reply. Did as suggested and managed to get it rolling (and cutting). I think it was also a bit stiff from lack of use...

Mick

Pleased to hear that.   Keep blade lubricated when storing for long periods, and adjust blades occasionally to keep it cutting nicely.
