I'm servicing my carb for the first time on my HP474 but I can't remove the jet, the driver doesn't seem to grip the jet. Does a flat blade screwdriver work or is a special tool required?

Just been given this honda 475 rear roller mower, the lady says it jumps when drive is applied. Starts and runs perfect, when you engage the drive it sounds like something is clicking and jerking loudly until you give it a little push forward and then it stops and drives fine.
